The label and its associated club night "Jazz&Milk" were founded in 2005 by DJ and producer Dusty. With guests such as Mr. Scruff, Quantic, LeFto, Romare, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Dorian Concept, Clap Clap!, Débruit, Sofrito Soundsystem, Simbad, Max Graef, Poets Of Rhythm, Karl Hector & the Malcouns, and many others, Jazz & Milk has not only made a name for itself as a label far beyond the city limits of Munich.

After moving to Cologne several years ago, we are pleased to announce the first label night at the wonderful new home King Georg Jazz Club. The event starts at 6 pm in the King Georg Büdchen (Kiosk) with music in the open air, before the record bags are carried across the street into the club at 10 pm.

The label Jazz & Milk and its eponymous club night offer an experimental playground for international artists who share a passion: a natural balance between acoustic and electronic sounds, traditional music, and modern club sound. That means jazz, soul, dub, afrobeat, Brazil, hip-hop, boogie, broken beat, and house, always accompanied by a "soulful touch."

For the first edition of the label night, Dusty gathers family and friends from around the world to celebrate this kickoff properly.

Joining us is Vienna-based artist Sam Irl, who has released his distinctive, soul-infused approach to contemporary house via labels such as Freerange, Sampling As An Art, SlothBoogie, and Brownswood. Since his debut in 2012, he has established himself with various EPs and his album "Raw Land" on Jazz & Milk as a permanent part of the label roster. In doing so, he has gathered a loyal following, including Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, Session Victim, Rainer Trüby, and many others.

In addition to collaborations with Dorian Concept and Dusty, he has been particularly active in recent years with the project "Pulsinger & Irl," together with the legendary DJ and producer Patrick Pulsinger, with whom they have performed twice at the Panorama Bar and the Sonar Festival.

Also from Vienna is the longtime vinyl aficionado Mr. Fixit, known not only for his soulful vinyl selections but also in producer circles for his skills as a gifted electroacoustician.

From Munich, a selection of the most eclectic and busiest DJs is expected. Among them is D2E3, who has shaped the Jazz & Milk club nights as a resident DJ for many years, as well as Kiesi M‘Baku, Edgar S, and Silla. The local heroes from Cologne, Hermes, Joscha Creutzfeldt, and Denis Eickmeier, as well as host Dusty, complete the line-up.

Prepare to embark on a musical voyage that pushes the boundaries of ambient soundscapes into progressive club realms. The enigmatic producer ifsonever aka Daniel Helmer garnered praise for his self-titled debut album, a unique blend of analog warmth, electronic urban ambiences, and hypnotic atmospheres which invited listeners to explore a range of emotions, from meditative serenity to almost mystical intrigue.

One year later, we are thrilled to announce the release of the "ifsonever remixed EP" on Jazz & Milk. As a testament to the enduring appeal of ifsonever's work, four talented remix artists have skillfully reimagined his tracks, invigorating the sonic landscapes he initially created. These remixes offer a thrilling departure from the tranquil ambient style of the original tracks, taking a more progressive, club-oriented direction.

The EP kicks off with a remix by Austrian musician and producer Wolf Lehmann who infuses the original track "home" with energy reminiscent of the mellow downtempo vibes from the golden era of trip-hop, all while preserving the modern electronic essence of ifsonever's original compositions.

Pulsinger & Irl, a collaborative project between Patrick Pulsinger and Sam Irl, combine their decades of experience to delve into an experimental mix of techno, house, and breakbeat on their club-friendly remix of "an unexpected error occurred," taking listeners on a thrilling sonic journey.

Ziggy Zeitgeist, renowned for his work with 30/70 and Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, offers a minimalistic remix approach to “maelstrom”, showcasing his eclectic nature as a drummer. His remix introduces a percussive dimension to ifsonever's 'maelstrom,' spanning genres from bossa-influenced rhythms to future funk and drum'n'bass.

Feater, a master of blending eras and styles in his purely vintage analog studio, presents a dreamy interpretation of "counting coins." This remix masterfully bridges the gap between the past and the present, offering a hypnotic and cinematic perspective that takes ifsonever's music on an exhilarating journey through the heavens.

The "ifsonever remixed EP" is a testament to the enduring power of music to transcend boundaries and capture the essence of the moment.

The cover artwork, a collaboration between Jazz & Milk graphic designer Tim Schmitt and photographer Frank Hulsbömer, visually encapsulates the otherworldly atmosphere of the music, making this release a multi-sensory journey.

Funk fuelled and global pointing Brazilian jazz trio Caixa Cubo are set to release their latest single Dreams on Feb 28. It is the group's first foray into R'n'B melding the simple and sporadic instrumentation of drums, keys and bass into a Jill Scott inspired song that could have been born in Brooklyn yet sung by Brazilian singer and Grammy nominated Xênia França and Zé Leônidas, sung in both English and Portuguese. 

With shoots to black music culture, from Brazil to Ghana and South Africa, new album Agôra is sparkling with electric funk and Herbie Hancock eclecticism. It shines not only for its virtuosity but also for its minimalism, it's depth of space, and for the first time, it's ability to figure outside the jazz fold, as the trio from São Paulo decided to bring in singers and add a new aesthetic to their sound. Guests include Brazilians Xênia França and Zé Leônidas, Jembaa Groove's Ghanaian singer Eric Owusu and South African artists Bongani Givethanks & Mpho Nkuzo. It follows on from their 2020 hit album Angela released on Heavenly Recordings.
